On Plagiarism and Community Contributions
This site is built with the crowdsourcing of user submissions to help create a comprehensive database of game insights. While this approach allows for a rich and diverse collection of information, it also means that plagiarism can occur.
I am committed to preventing this as well as I can. All contributors are required to agree to the site’s Community Contribution Policy, which explicitly states that all submissions must be original work or, if based on existing information, must clearly cite the source. However, even with these safeguards in place, it's impossible for me to manually cross-reference every single submission against every possible external source on platforms like Discord, Reddit, Google Docs, YouTube and other channels.
When it comes to game insights, it's also important to distinguish between outright plagiarism and similar conclusions. It's very common for multiple people, working independently, to reach similar conclusions about a game's mechanics, strategies, or hidden tricks. This is especially true in complex games like the Tower where players are all observing quite similar data and are likely to follow similar logical steps. These "somewhat similar" insights are a natural byproduct of a large community analyzing, learning and discussing the same subject.
However, a 100% copied submission is a different matter entirely. This would involve a direct lift of text, analysis, and unique phrasing without any attribution. This is a violation of this site’s policy and a form of plagiarism that will be addressed.
If you believe that a contribution on this site has plagiarized your work, please Contact me.
For everyone's benefit and to minimize potential conflict, please do not contact the contributor directly. I am currently the only one who can make edits or take down content anyways, and so I will handle the communication and resolution. Please be prepared to provide evidence, such as links to your original work and the specific submission in question. I will investigate the matter thoroughly and take appropriate action, which may also involve bringing in the accused party for mediation.
