The workshop refers to a large part of your tower and its abilities, including Attack Upgrades (Workshop), Defense Upgrades (Workshop), Utility Upgrades (Workshop), as well as Workshop Enhancements (WS+).
Generally speaking, your workshop abilities can be levelled in-run for Cash, and upgraded outside of a run with Coins for permanent increases.
