Text version:
So beyond sharing progress updates and talking about my rationale for my path of upgrades and labs and so on and offering advice where I can - I wanted to make a video to highlight some invaluable resources created by the amazing Tower community.
And so today we’ll go through what I think are the main and most important ones. And though I know my subscribers have voted that they prefer vertical YouTube videos, this time I have to make it horizontal, otherwise it will just be too difficult to see and make sense of the resources that I’m going to share.
thetower.tools
So, starting off, there is this website, thetower.tools which has a lot of great tools to help you in your tower journey. And this was created by Skye, a well-known big spender and top, top player in the community.
I’ll first cover the ones that I’ve used a fair bit, and then I’ll cover some that you may avoid or skip or at least rely less on.
So, starting with the ones I’ve used the most:
- What Tower Should I Farm? - What Tier Should I Farm?
- So first and foremost, the “What Tier Should I Farm” is the go-to tool if you are serious about maximizing your gains. Because, every account is different so you don’t want to 100% trust anyone who says you should farm a specific tier or do a certain strategy. Instead, you should record your own runs and based on that assess where you earned the most coins per hour and cells per hour. And that is what this tool let’s you do. You simply input your stats at the end of a run to measure and assess your results. So, for example, I may try a certain strategy and try it on both tier 10 and tier 11 and then see if it ends up with different results in terms of my coin average per hour or cells per hour. And I want to emphasize that it is the average per hour that you should be most concerned with. Don’t get too caught up in vanity metrics such as what your peak coins per minute may be or how much you make in a run, because what matters more is what you are able to make on an average hour and in a day - at least that’s what matters more from an efficiency and progression standpoint.
- And beyond the comparisons to find the best tier and strategy for yourself - it’s also a great way to look back at your previous historical records and see how far you’ve come!
- And to make full use of the tool and measuring your runs, you want to make sure you have the lab called More Round Stats maxed, which is just one level. That way you will be able to see your stats at the end of a run.
- And this is easily the tool that I’ve used the most in my own journey. It’s how I’ve tried tonnes of different strategies and tiers and tried to perfect my orb devo strategy. And that being said, if you’re interested in learning more about Orb Devo btw, then check out the video guide on that after watching this video (Orb Devo Guide for Increased Coin Gain & Progression).
- Enemey Stats Calculator - Enemy Stats Calculator
- Then, let’s talk about the Enemy Stats Calculator - which lets you check enemy stats at any wave in any tier, and quickly figure out what wave has comparable stats in other tiers.
- This tool I don’t use that often, but it can be quite useful to assess your strength for milestone runs. For example, if I know that I’m dying at about wave 5,000 on tier 10 - then I can look at how the enemy stats will be for similar wave length on tier 11, etc. to get a decent grasp of how far I’ll be able to get there. There are of course other factors involved such as increased elites etc., but generally speaking I find it quite helpful to assess when I’m ready for a milestone unlock. And so that way I also don’t have to waste time with unsuccessful milestone attempts which eats up valuable time.
- Two things to keep in mind here is to input your average Enemy Level Skips, and also remember that if you take the 50/50 Damage Trade-off Perk, then you need to half the damage you see listed. And of course, the damage you see specified here is not the damage you actually take, because your defense% etc. will reduce that.
- Card tracker - Card Tracker
- Then, the third tool that I used a fair bit is the Card Tracker - which lets you track your Cards collection, see how many Gems have been spent and are remaining to spend on cards.
- I would ocassionally go to this tool just to update my card progress and assess how far I was from my goals.
- The other thing I liked about this is that I would only update this every now and then, so whenever I did, I could visibly see the progress I had made since last time - which was nice - as it’s not always easy to see and feel the same way in the game with the minor incremental progression.
- Now though, as my cards are basically close to being maxed, this tool is of less use to me anymore and I will soon focus on Card Mastery instead which I don’t feel like I need to track there.
- Stone calculator - Stone Calculator
- And on the topic of Stones usage. The fourth tool that I used a fair bit in the past was the Stone Calculator - which helps calculate the cost and time it will take to upgrade your Ultimate Weapons to various levels.
- And this can be quite useful to plan your stone usage, and I found it particularly useful earlier in my journey when I was planning the stone investments for my Golden Tower and Black Hole cooldowns and to ensure that these were kept in sync. The whole interface is a bit wonky and not that intuitive though, but once you get the hang of it, it can be quite nice to use.
- Just note that in the first tab you input the data you currently have, and in the second tab you input your targets and in the third tab you get an overview of the stones required to get you from the initial to your target.
- There are also some additional tabs for Ultimate Weapon Plus and to calculate Golden Combo (GT+), but as I’m not that far in the game, it’s not relevant resource for me at least, but it may be for you.
- Nowadays there are some sheets that I will get into later in the video that also helps for stone calculations - so I find myself not using this tool as often anymore, but it is a solid resource and usually what is updated the first after any update to the game.
- The Multiverse Calculator - MVN Calculator
- And then there’s the Multiverse Nexus (MVN) Calculator which is what I have used absolutely the most the last months. Because I use a hoarding strategy with Orb Devo for exponential coin gains, I have been very concerned about Sync time and ensuring that whenever I was reducing my UW cooldowns that I would have an understanding of what the new sync times would be and that I would ensure that my Golden Bot timer was matching this, and so forth. So this tool has been an invaluable resource to assess such.
- And, now that I have maxed all my UW cooldowns, I use the tool to assess the scenarios that would enable me to get permanent Golden Tower (pGT) combined with permanent Black Hole (pBH), as that is my next main goal in the game. So, here I can fiddle around to see the various scenarios that would enable me to get there, such as getting Ancestral Galaxy Compressor and some increase in Recovery Package Chance and BH duration, or getting GT cooldown Sub-Module Effect, etc.
- And by the way, you’ll see that there is two tabs, one specifically focused on MVN sync - but sync time also shows on the Perma calculator, so I only use that one myself.
- Then there’s the Module Calculator - Module Calculator
- Look up and compare module costs and values between various levels at each rarity, figure out how long it will take you to level them up, see how high they would be with a different shard discount, and calculate weekly shard income.
- Module Calculator I haven’t seen any relevant use for for myself, except one time where I was working towards level 101 for my modules and that tool helped me calculate that if I got 5 levels in the Module Shard Cost lab it would make my modules that are lvl 100 to 101. So that was a nice way of learning of a bit of a shortcut to get faster to lvl 101 that I ultimately did. And of course you could do similar
There are also two tools dedicated to labs - which can be helpful to you. However, I don’t use these at all as I instead use community spreadsheet for anything related to labs which I’ll be showing later. But let me just briefly cover these tools on the thetower.tools website:
